every morning, I dissolve a 2 tablespoon of coconut oil in LESS than 4oz of Boiling water....and then I drink it...
Please note, that I use the smallest amount of water possible to dissolve the coconut oil....it barely fills the bottom of my cup and I swallow it in one gulp....
I have lost 15 pounds (and kept it off) in less than 3 months. I feel healthy and I look better.
Currently I have decided to do this 2 times a day to see more results in my weightloss!!
Good luck...

There's 2 kind of palm oils: palm oil and palm kernel oil.
Palm oil is extracted from the pulp of the oil palm, palm kernel oil is derived from the seed. Palm kernel oil is not very common, especially in the US. Palm oil is more plentiful.
Palm kernel oil (not very common) has MCTs but not palm oil (more common oil).

I have been looking every where this and can't seen to find the answer. Does any one know, does palm oil have medium chain fatty acids?

If I were you I would try it in all different types of juice, OJ, pineapple, whatever you like or other drinks... or maybe even try to start cooking every once in a while, no one is good at first but it's fun once you get good at it don't be discouraged by a few bad recipes. coconut oil is one of the only good oils to cook with anyway

Hi Megan,
It will be better to take the 3 tablespoons of coconut oil 3 times a day, and not in one consumption.
You can also use coconut oil with fried eggs: add a little butter if you want to improve the taste.
Another 1 tablespoon could be consumed before lunch or during lunch time.
The last tablespoon before or at 4:00 p.m.
Avoid taking coconut oil at night. It might give you energy and it could interfere with your sleeping time.

Here are some tips in improving the taste of coconut oil:
Mix 1 teaspoon of butter in every 3 tablespoon of coconut oil. You can take it straight or spread it to your toast, bagel, or waffles.
Mix coconut oil with peanut butter if you're not allergic to it. Experiment mixing coconut oil with other nut butters such as almond. Add a dust of nutmeg or vanilla.
Add a teaspoon of raw honey in every 3 tablespoon of coconut oil.

Hi Megan,
In my experience taking straight by the spoon is not a problem, some people have a problem taking it straight because of being new to the taste of coconut oil, and some have a quick detox reaction.
For a new coconut oil user/eater, they can experiment with which is more tolerable: either taking it straight or with food.
Every person has a different experience with coconut oil; it depends on how each body handles it and the health condition of the person.
Coconut oil doesn't change it's health benefits whether it is being taken straight or with food. It depends on the tolerance, health condition and activity of the person. Some need to take it slowly, starting in a small amount until they get adjusted to it. Some could take up to 3 tablespoons three times a day and have no problems with rapid detox, and instead it will give them boost of energy.
It is preferable to take it slowly and build up your intake as you tolerate it. Your body will tell you which one is for you.
Hope this will help.

Hi Jennifer,
There are many ways of taking coconut oil. You can mix it with your salad dressings, add to your smoothies, spread it on your toast, muffins and pancakes. Mix it with your peanut butter, rice, pasta, and use it for stir fry. You can replace your vegetable oil for cooking with coconut oil.
There's lots of possibilities. For recipe ideas using coconut oil you can search on http://www.freecoconutrecipes.com where there are hundreds of recipes.

| coconut oil [Forum: Weight Loss] |

Nicole,
Ok, I will. So far it hasn't been that using the coconut oil. The only hard thing about it is that it is solid and trying to get pieces of it is a task. I keep mine in the fridge because it says it will last longer. I don't know if anyone else is that problem?!
Does anyone know how long it will be until you see results?
By the way Nicole, I drizzle the coconut oil in everything I eat at dinner. It's not half bad. You can't really taste a difference.
Keep me posted,
Jennifer

| Re: My journey with coconut oil for my hypothyroid [Forum: Thyroid Health ] |
Wed, 26 Jan 2011 21:43:00 EST |
@ Julie: Hope you are doing well! I have not been on here in months, sorry.
@ Char: Have you asked your dr. about Armour or Nature-thyroid?
This past summer my thyroid levels fell and I was whipped. From August to December I battled a nearly constant vaginal yeast infection. Found out I was pregnant end of September and wondered if it all stemmed from that. I was so fatigued and would have stayed in the bed forever if I didn't have small children to care for. My OB/GYN ordered an ultrasound of my thyroid to test for cancer since my goiter returned. Talk about being scared. Thank God the results were negative! So we began discussing options and changing my meds. I asked about Armour since I've heard all good about it and he said he thought that was a good place to start. (My reg. NP refused to prescribe it for me.) He said if Armour didn't work, we'd try name brand Synthroid plus a T3 with it. I'm pleased to report that I feel better than I have in over 10 years. My pregnancy is going well and I'm still in love with EVCO!
I hope you both are good results and that your health is improving. Oh! Forgot to mention I'm still losing weight. A total of 26 lbs. since starting the EVCO, 9 of that since I became pregnant. How about them apples?!?!?
