Hi Phyllis,

Coconut oil that is use as ingredient in baking and as grease on the pan for the recipe that requires 375 degrees will not burn. It will burn when it is used for pan frying at a high temperature.

Hi, I'm new, too! Very excited about using virgin coconut oil (which I had purchased over a year ago but had only used to grease my brownie pans!! The jar says it's fine to use at temps of 350 or less. But I'm wondering, since I have a recipe that requires 375 temp, what will happen if I used coconut oil instead of veg oil. Will it burn??

Hi, I'm new to this site but not new to coconut oil. I agree that the best way to use it is to cook with it. It makes awesome! chocolate chip cookies, I only pan fry with the CO, the mayo is awesome, and whoever came up with the idea to mix half and half with butter was a freaking genius! I absolutely love the idea of putting something so healthy into my body.
