Hi Rich,
Good to hear about your progress. Another program that is helpful for low thyroid is exercise such as: rebounding is beneficial for the organs and lymphatic system, step aerobics or fast walking increase heart rate and good for cardiovascular system, weight-bearing exercise is helpful to prevent osteoporosis.
Exercise increases metabolic rate, it is good for weight loss, boost mood and for general health. A 15 minutes exercise a day will improve energy level.

Choose exercise that will fit your energy level and physical condition.

Have a Blessed and Healthful New year.

Thanks Marianita!

I have done a lot of intestinal cleansing over the years. Using Holistic Horizons, Arise and Shine, and plain old Sonnes Bentonite. First time with Bentonite I got out a perfect cast of my colon.

In reading about goitrogens recently I have been able to eliminate them. I have not eaten soy for a long time, but I cut out the peanuts too. No soy oil.

I have discovered that I was over acid. Raw green juices are a big impact now. I thought I had to use wheatgrass, but dandelion, cukes, celery and a bit of carrot to taste is powerful enough for alkalizing. Vegetable soup is helping a lot too. Good call!

I'm adding the coconut back in today. It helps with warmth, energy and moving things through.
Thanks for responding.
Rich

You're welcome Rich.

Have you tried colon cleansing also? Colon cleanses go together with the liver cleanse to make the cleansing have full benefits.

Have you looked at goitorgens food that you need to avoid? Goitrogens can block iodine from being absorbed by the thyroid glands.

Here are some goitrogen foods: cabbage, peanuts, turnips, pine nuts, soy beans and its products.

Soy beans are commonly used for pre-package products as ingredients and fillers. Soy oil is used for commercial mayonnaise and salad dressings.

Eating soups made from organic chicken, vegetable and beef broth are healthy and helpful, and you can incorporate coconut oil in your soup as well.

Thanks for your reply Marianita.

I have been to 5 classical homeopaths over 15 years, most recent one knew how to treat liver issues, but no lasting benefit. I use cell salts to manage my issues, but they don't cure.

I have done dozens of liver cleanses, they provide short partial relief but don't last more than a couple days.

I have had provocative urine test for minerals, hair analysis with Dr Wilson, those found some minor deficiencies but no excessive toxic metals.

An MD diagnosed hypothyroid from blood tests, but she could not manage it. Gave me slow release T3, which laid me on the floor, but she was unwilling to give Armour or try anything else.

I'm gradually stepping up the iodine s that I have, and ordered Iodoral. Taking tyrosine, selenium, zinc.

I'm also stepping up the Coconut oil. I realized that I was taking 3 heaping tablespoons per day during the summer months when it was easy to scoop out of the jar as paste. Then when cold weather hardened it I put it on top of my network router to keep it liquid. But a level flatware "tablespoon" of liquid is really only 1/2 a true tablespoon. So I was taking much less coconut oil when cold weather came. So I'll bring it back up to 3-4 full tablespoons, or 2 fl. oz. per day. I hope it works!
Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich,

As you mentioned you're probably hypothyroid and have liver congestion and at present you're taking iodine for your hypothyroidism. Are you under the guidance of a Homeopath doctor for your hypothyroid?

Your liver congestion hinders the absorptions of nutrients and fats that you're taking.

Have a liver detox under the guidance of a health care professional.

It will also good to have you tested for heavy metals.
Heavy metals in the blood could be eliminated through
chelation therapy. This testing is prescribed by a Holistic doctor.

It's a journey to find a solution to have a healthy body.
Continue the journey, you will get there somehow.

My first post.

I am 45, been chronic fatigue since age 19. I eat well, no drugs, no meds, no smoke, good fats, etc. I tried every nutrient and superfood, none fixed it. Not to mention the docs. Ugh.

I have tried VCO twice. Both times it boosted my energy within a couple days and completely restored my health for about 5-6 weeks. A true miracle, really. Then the effect of the oil began to diminish, until after two months I was back to normal (sick) and taking more oil didn't help. Needless to say it is very discouraging, especially the second time.

I read in this forum of so many people restoring their energy with VCO, I have to ask the question, has anybody else experienced this temporary boost of energy from coconut oil, followed by let down and return to low energy and depression despite continuing to take the oil?

I suspect that the increased energy from coconut oil requires more nutrients to support the energy than I am eating, and that I am deficient in one or more nutrients which when they run out I lose energy again. There was a 5 year space between the 1st time and the 2nd time, which was a couple months ago. I believe that during that non-coconut time the missing nutrients built back up due to the low energy and lack of exertion. Then the coconut oil lit the candle again which burns bright until the unknown nutrients run out again. Does this sound reasonable? That's just my working theory, I could be wrong, and welcome opinions in support or contrast.

I have symptoms of hypothyroid as well as liver congestion, which I have recently learned is a symptom of low thyroid. ;) I don't eat much iodine, not even in salt, so I am on iodine s now, and have ordered bought Brownsteins Iodine book to help me build it back up safely. But I thought the same about magnesium, zinc, calcium, selenium, etc none of them helped. I had a good kinesiologist for 6 months he couldn't find any deficiency. Provocative urine testing showed all "normal" except low chromium, which taking it didn't help. So I don't know what mineral it might be, or vitamin, etc.

I do feel better after using a lot of wheatgrass juice, which is giving me the missing nutrients. But grass is not long term solution.

I am using Organic extra virgin Coconut Oil now. I used a different cold squeezed oil from Phillipines last time, don't remember which, but it tasted good.

What other vitamins and minerals are needed to support the coconut high indefinitely?

Thanks for any advice, and for sharing your experience.
