Hi Laura,
Glad you found this site; it is a wealth of information. I suggest starting with 1/2 tsp. coconut oil a day for a week, then increasing by 1/2 tsp. each week until you reach a dose that seems to work for you. Too much at once will send you running to the bathroom! There are many ways to take the oil. If you have zero gag reflex, you can just eat it off the spoon like my husband does. Ick! I stir it in my coffee so it melts nicely and tastes yummy. We also cook with it. You can replace any fat you'd normally use to cook with coconut oil. I especially like it for scrambled eggs.
Hope some of this helps,
Cassie

I am so glad to see this site. I recently started using coconut oil when a boyfriend introduced me. I did not know the correlation to thyroid. I have been sitting "on the line" for needing medication for years so I have lived off of 1200 calorie diet and 5 days a week workouts for 1-2 hours to maintain my weight. But like most of you the fatigue and lack of sleep never ceases to cause problems. any good suggestions on how to begin using CO to help??? there is a lot on this site... help???? need some clarification. :0)
