I am new here...tried pouring 1/2 tsp of coc. oil over my cold cereal. I poured the milk in first in the hope that it wouldn't solidify, but it did anyway. So now I guess I just use it in oatmeal or other warm foods. LOVE the idea of putting it in coffee!! thanks for that. :-)

Hi Cathie,

I am a late subscriber to this forum and came across your query. If you are still searching for an answer, perhaps mine would assist. You see, coconut oil solidifies in cold temperatures (test by storing your jar of oil in a cold place, eg air conditioned room, fridge, etc) so when this is mixed in ice-cold smoothies, the oil would solidify into little lumpy lets. If you drink coffee, try mixing a spoonful of coconut oil the next time you have that cuppa..it gives a wonderful aroma..!!

Have a question about using coconut oil in smoothhies. When I use liquified coconut oil in a smoothie in which I use ice or frozen fruit it always make the coconut oil turn solid and makes lumps in the smoothie. Anyone else have a problem using coconut oil in cold drinks? I adore coconut oil but I also love my smoothies ice cold. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!
