Wendy,
I was an Italian sautee chef up in Boston and I have been cooking with olive oil for years.. I will continue using it. I have high cholosterol and olive oil ruduces it up to 18%. The trick to cooking with it is to slow heat never use high when cooking.. I dn not know much about palm oil but I am learning about it and will use, mixed with the olive oil so I can get the benifits of both.. Using it as a mixture will reduce the burning effects of the olive oil.

I'm going to be using Palm oil. I'm not sure of the taste and smell but I hear it has a high heating point which is what I need. I like using oil and since I don't use vegetable, and finding olive oil to be unstable during cooking and not recommended for cooking, plus I like to change up from butter---I decided I'll use palm oil in my diet.
I recommend trying to find a pint if you can and using a bit of it for at least a week to three weeks. I say three weeks because---week 1, when trying something new people don't normally like it; week 2, you might see that it's not as bad as you think and might change your mind; and week 3, really the defining moment on the results you get and if they have been more consistent than not. You can make a fully informed decision after trying it out for a period of time.

Dear Wendy:
Palm Oil is commonly used by Africans especially Nigerians. I have been using Palm Oil for a very long time and most people prefer it to ordinary vegetable oil.
I will get more information for you on the nutritional value of Palm Oil.
Regards.

Hi, I have been reading a book about palm oil and all the health benefits. I was wondering if anyone here uses it for cooking and can tell me what it tastes like. I have been doing VCO and would like to add the palm, but would like an opinion first. Thanks so much, Wendy J.
