My system is very sensitive to anything laxative, so I started very slowly, 1/4 tsp twice a day, and now I'm up to 1/2 tsp twice a day, and am already seeing the laxative properties, but no diarrhea. I'm working up very slowly, and will cut back if the diarrhea hits.

HI Nancy, maybe 3 tablespoons are little bit bigger, try to adjust at your first week you must take at least 2 tablespoons and after a week increase it into 3 tablespoons and so on until you will get the right dosage which is 3 1/2 tablespoons. Diarrhea is such a normal PROCESS that you will undergo. VCO is cleansing your body and it will dispose the toxins and all of the hazardous waste in your body.

Hi-

I think adding fiber to your diet is great idea - how about coconut itself? I read somewhere that the coconut "feeds the little (& good) beasties in our colon that keeps them happy". So, I tried adding a teaspoon of shredded coconut to my shakes (twice a day) plus 2 Tablespoons coconut oil in them & I am regular bowel movements. I have read a lot regarding IBS sypmtoms as a family member suffers from diarrhea often and the advice is to add more fiber. So it is good for both loose movements & constipation (my former problem). Good luck & hope it helps.

Hi
My guess is that 3 spoons full mitgh be a little bit too much for you to begin with. Also, try to adjust - more fibres - for example bran flakes, wheetabix or whole-wheat bread. Make sure you mix oil with fibres while chewing, so the important enzymes in your saliva can start working before the coconut oil hits your stomach.
I just started 10 days ago and have already lost 4 pounds. My bowel movements are different, but not too loose.
Kind regards
swisstim

I am new to the coconut oil world and have been taking 3tablespoons a day for about three weeks. I am already noticing a decrease in my appetite and my sweet tooth and my carb intake. So I am thrilled. I have also lost some weight (I would like to lose about 15 pounds altogether) but my one problem is that the oil seems to give me diareha(sp?). Kind of embarrassing, but true. Does anyone have this issue as well? Is this normal? Is my body just adjusting??? Please let me know if you have thoughts on this. Thanks, Curious
