Hello,
I just read on the research page on the website:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db;=pubmed&dopt;=Abstract&list;_uids=10204088
Biochem Mol Biol Int. 1999 Mar;47(3):509-18.
My question is, can I overdose on Virgin Palm Oil, lathering it all over overnight, and washing it away in the A.M.? Can we get too much vitamin E or precursors, etc.? The article tested, and proved, that topical application results in the substance being found in the internal organs - liver, etc. WITHIN 24 HOURS - that's incredible and fantastic! What a great way to get your vit E and soft skin to boot!
So, my question is:
Taken internally:
How much to Virgin Palm Oil to ingest daily for good health?
Applying topically:
How much or how often is good practice? Also, where to apply? Small patches on your skin (as in small strategic places such as under the forearm, you know, the "thin skin" areas.
Or can it be used all over freely, anywhere, anytime?
By the way:
I have asked the forum folks to create a forum or thread just for VPO comments.
I sure hope they can do it, it would be great.
I recently "discovered" (or it discovered me) the Tropical Traditions company, website, and these forums.
I ordered the VPO and have started using it. I have cooked with it (someone gave a soup recipe in the forums for an African soup, and so I decided to make soup with it - it was great, by the way).
But what I've been doing, is lathering it on after my shower at night and sleeping with it. All over, arms, tummy, legs, elbows, etc. I started slowly at first, to see if I would have a reaction, and when I didn't I 'brought it on." Also, I was concerned about the dye, or carrot color you get.
Anyway, I noticed a washing removes the color entirely, and you are left with just a nice layer of "dewey" skin.
2. The color DOES stain your clothes! So at night, wear stuff you can live with if it gets stained.
3. After an hour or so, the orange "layer" on your skin dries into a powdery stuff. That is what you wash away when you wash with soap. (Two soapings are usually necessary - one is not enough.) So, this orangey powder is water-soluble, when it comes to your skin. It is NOT on clothese in the washing machine! So again, be forewarned that you need to be comfortable with clothes you don't mind remaining yellow.
Your thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.
Sorry this is so long...
Cheers,
