I use VCO with pineapple juice. I melt the VCO in a pot of boiling water and add to pineapple juice (room tempeture. It does taste good. I have only been using VCO for a week. I have found it has helped my energy level as well as decreasing my cravings for sweets.

Ummm...why don't you guys just use like a regular oil? Fry with it. Broil with it. Make mayonnaise with it. Mix it half and half with butter for a spread.
Just basically use it like you'd use any cooking oil.

I quit using it for while because I couldn't handle it straight as it made me so queasy. BUT I just tried it in my green tea with agave nectar as a sweetener and you can hardly taste it at all!

I am new to using coconut oil but I've found the easiest way to take it is to heat a little water in a pot (not microwave) and melt the coconut oil in the water. I also stir it into hot food like baked beans or oatmeal. It doesn't change the taste of the food.

Hi Janelle ~
My cup of tea with VCO is delicious:
1 TB VCO
1 bag Echinacea Plus tea
1/2 tsp Tree of Life cranberry juice concentrate
slice of lemon or lime
The Echinacea helps the immune system. The cranberry juice concentrate supports bladder function. The lemon/lime cuts the tartness of the cranberry juice. All together, it is delicious and excellent in support.
Please note: all the ingredients should be the best possible quality available.
take gentle care,
~Laura

I use VCO in chamomile tea with some stevia, but for some reason, it is distasteful. Do you have any suggestions? Do you think it is the type of tea I'm using?

I found after trying the VCO straight, that I couln't tolerate the taste. Since I drink alot of homebrew ice tea, do you think it would work in this? If I am going to try to take this twice a day, I need to find a way to take it.
Thanks.

I too used coconut oil, I think it works wonderfully, I add 1teaspoon to a cup of warn after I eat in the a.m. I was told in helps in weight loss, I think it settles better with warm drinks. You might want to use "Red Clover tea. I helps to refrenhen the skin also. I find it very soothing to the stomach.Hope this bit of info helps.

Hi,
This is the first time on the coconut forum. I have just started the diet and also am doing a low carb diet. I put coconut oil in my tea and coffee. I'll us coconut milk instead of cream and splenda. It's really good.

> I was wondering if anyone has tried VCO in hot tea? It is summer in the States so it really isn't the right time of year but I would be willing to do it if it taste good. I just can't seem to take a TBSP of VCO straight :)
>
We use VCO in our hot tea all the time. It is the easiest way for us to get our "daily amount" of VCO. It rises to the top of the tea and when you drink it, it doesn't leave any oily film in your mouth.
