Subject: Re: Rebounder use... [Forum: Rebounding]

Hi, I had a total hip replacement 3 1/2 years ago and have a rebounder. I have used it often (but I don't go wild), and have had no problems at all. I think it's great to get the lymph moving even if one gently springs up and down. You can also get safety bars to hold onto, which I do have but have not attached them as yet. My doc's office was mostly concerned about the effects of falling off the rebounder, but I've not ever fallen.

By: theresa in a book I've read about rebounding, by the man who really got it going, he suggests you can sit on the rebounder, and just move up and down, or have someone else gently bounce while you sit.Even a few minutes will help.

I would think that the doctor is afraid of the jarring action of the rope skipping -- maybe you can print up some information from different web sites and bring them to his so he can have an idea -- or talk to a physical therapist and ask them what you could say to the doctor. But I wouldn't do anything until he approves it.

By: James Is the rebounder appropriate for someone who has had a hip replacement......my surgeon has previously advised against my skipping rope. BTW I'm 71 years onld and get around pretty well. Would appreciate advice on this in that I so thourghly enjoy being active.
