My husband has acid reflux too and has found apple cider vinegar to be helpful as well. Helios organic kefir also is awesome for acid reflux. He has had more relief from the kefir. It's great tasting too. I wish I could find someone with a culture to spare. I would like to start making my own kefir.

Hello,
IMO it sounds like your friend does not have enough hydrochloric acid in her stomach and she is dehydrated. One should drink half their body weight in ounces each day. For me that is 124 ounces per day, 4 oz short of a gallon of water. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar will increase the amount of Hydrochloric acid in her stomach wich helps with digestion and with the proper hydration she can expel more toxins. This is what helped me and I have no more acid reflux or stomach pains.

Hello everyone. Will anybody please enlight me on this. My friend has hyperacidity or probably ulcers but hasn't been to a medical doctor yet for verification. She tried VCO but everytime she takes it, there is pain in the stomach. She thinks it agravates her hyperacidity. However, it doesn't happen if she takes fruit juices (which are normally acidic) or even when she takes fatty foods. What could be the explanation why this happens to her.
Thank you for your help.

By: Annie Have you tried removing wheat from your diet. I have no more acid reflux once I removed wheat and be careful it is in almost all packaged food including salad dressings. Also was a big help with my ulcer.

By: Mary Tell your friend to go to a health food store and buy her some PH strips and check her PH balance to make sure that she has to much acid, or if she is to alkaline, I know that if you are one way or the other it can cause those symptons. I am at this time trying to take care of acid reflux and a hiatal hernia, the best thing that has helped me (Don't Laugh) is FRESH goat's milk, but it is hard to find in this area, so I am just now trying the VCO, hoping that this will help me, hope that something I said helps your friend.

Hi Jeath,
Just joined the site. I have acid reflux, gas burning and found out be seeing an herbalist that it was due to hypersensitivity to all white products (potatoes, white rice, breads with white flour, cakes, cookies, chips etc.) Eliminating them from my diet, eating healthier: fruits, veggies, juicing, adding healthy grains, etc. did the job. Also, To test if I had too much or too little akaline (acid)she told me to take juice of a lemon and drink it pure the next time I have acid reflux, gas and burning. If it feels better you are low in akaline (acid) if it makes it worse you have too much. I now drink only lemon water (no sugar) 3 -4 bottles a day, juice my fruits and no sodas. It worked for me. I can now have white products once in a blue moon, but if I have it too much, it comes back.

Hello Jeath:
I was watching tv the other night and this guy was talking about alternative health. Well, he was talking about heartburn and acid reflux. My husband has this problem. He was saying that the rx's don't really help with this. He said it is usually caused by a LACK of acidity, which seems just the opposite. He said to test it, next time you have heartburn, acid reflux, take a teaspoon of vinegar. So I told my husband, and he has tried the vinegar and lo and behold it worked. He has also tried just eating pickles when it happens, and that works too. So....anyway, just thought I'd mention that for your friend to try, cuz it sounds like the same thing since she can drink the acidic fruit juices.
