Wow-- so inspirational to read about the rebounder's benefits. I use mine sporadically. I am not sure why but I don't seem to see any great benefits, except that I usually want to have an afternoon nap (so it must relax me??) after I jump for a while. What sort of exercises do you do on it? I find it quite monotonous and actually forget to do it as a result, but I am willing to do it again if I am convinced that it is not hocum! Thanks!

Hi Elaine,

I started using my rebounder the week of July 18. I have had some problems over the last six weeks which kept me from working out and dancing. After testing it out for a few minutes, I decided to try it for 15 minutes. I am a 53 year old belly dancer so my ankles are pretty strong ( been dancing a little over a year). I did feel sore at first. Since that date I have been using it for 30 minutes twice a day because I found that I like it very much. With this rebounder, I have not needed to use any of my other equipment. I also notice since the first day that I have lost 2 pounds. Also, I have had probnlems with spinning around when I bell dance. The rebounder helps me with that. I am able to turn around on it very fast and do not feel as dizzy as I use to feel when I am dancing. So, it also is helping me with my dancing. The weight lost was a surprise. I enjoy this rebounder very much. It is also easier using hand weights while jumping of it. I have never been able to do jumping jacks without pain. Now, no pain. I love it.

I can't actually say that I "enjoy" rebounding but I'm very pleased with mine. I'm 67 and I did't order a hand rail to help with my balance. Sure enough I had trouble with balance every time I put air under my soles. However, with practice I'm now able to stay "air born" for 3 to 5 minutes at a strech. Also my balance and sure footedness else where has noticeably improved. Thanks
Jerry

Subject: Re: Rebounders

Yes, I have something to say about my new rebounder. I love it! I don't think I have ever bought anything other than Tropical Traditions coconut oil and the Needak rebounder that have done exactly what was said they would do, and I am a hard customer. My husband calls me the "return queen" because if I don't like an item I bought, it goes right back to the store. Anyway, back to the rebounder. When I bought it I was just starting physical therepy for my hip which was causing me a lot of pain because I had been trying to run. I have always had a goal to run at least one mile. Over the last 3 1/2 years I have lost well over 100 lbs and I have more to go, so I wanted to try and reach my running goal. It brought much pain to my hip. Hence the physical therapy. After some massage, some ultrasound and heat I felt a little better. I received my rebounder on about the third day of my therapy and tried it. The first thing I noticed was that it made me have to urinate right away. (that went away) I bounced for 3 minutes that evening and felt something I could'nt quite describe. Energized I guess without feeling too hyper. I slept very well that night. I rebounded for increased minutes for a few days before my next therapy appointment and when I was asked about my pain I realized I didn't have any. NONE. I have not had any pain since. (I have not yet tried to run again though)I am now rebounding 30 minutes a day and I feel great. I still go to therapy but for weight training to strengthen my muscles so I can run (and walk) I want to be able to walk/run our half marathon next 4th of July. One more thing that I want to mention for those trying to lose weight. I have lost quite a bit, but was getting too dependant on what the scale read. I threw away my scale last February or so and won't allow the Dr. to weigh me. I started losing weight again. I can tell by the way my clothes fit, and my friends are telling me I look great. I no longer worry about a number that nobody needs to know anyway, I mean we don't go aroud with our daily weight posted on out foreheads so people can judge us. That is my philosophy anyway. For what its worth. If you are thinking about buying a rebounder, the Needak rebounder is awesome. Go for it!
