Weight Loss
I started
taking Tropical Traditions virgin coconut oil faithfully six
weeks ago. I am up to 2 ozs. a day and I am experiencing
fabulous results. I am also using it on my skin immediately
following bathing, before drying off. My diet has completely
changed back to vegetarian and I have not had any desire for
sweets for over a month. I lost 10 pounds (I was about 30 lbs.
overweight) and my appetite is back to normal. I feel great
and have much more energy. I am a massage therapist and have a
very busy practice. I have been tired and burned out for years
but still I plugged away and satisfied my customers. I have
not felt tired for weeks now. I am also back to my spiritual
practices and feeling very optimistic. I am a great deal less
negative and don't even like to watch TV violence and find TV
news disturbing, too dramatic and not worth my time. I am
recommending the oil to my clients daily. I could go on for
ever about the changes.

and devoured it's contents. I immediately ordered a half
gallon of the wonderful oil. I have been consuming it for
about 6 weeks and have lost about 5 pounds. I have noticed an
increase in energy. I had had low metabolism since I was a
teen. I am now 76 yrs old. I'm so pleased that I'm losing
about a pound a week and no longer have tenderness in my
gallbladder area. I walk about 3 miles 3 times a week and love

I have been
taking a tablespoon of coconut oil three times daily with
meals. Taking the oil with my meals seems to give me a “full
feeling” a lot faster. My sweet tooth has practically
vanished—and this is from someone who should have bought stock
in Hershey's long ago! Ironically, facilitating weight loss
was my main reason for trying the coconut oil diet, but with

aspect almost seems like an afterthought. About three days

had to tell you that your product has changed my life. For the
past ten years I have been fighting hypothyroidism. I have
gained over sixty pounds and it seems that lately my doctor is

I've been on coconut oil
since September 2002 and although that doesn't seem like long
- it has changed my life and the lives of my family and
friends. I learned so much and much of it off of this site.
These people are so helpful and smart! My weight actually went
UP when I started on coconut oil but I felt so GREAT! Being
hypothyroid, I was on synthroid and Cytomel and had been for
years but with inconsistent results and feeling worse.
Other changes besides the
addition of coconut oil were the complete removal of soy ( and
that is a major challenge in itself!), all trans-fatty acids,
no refined sugar, and organ cleanses seasonally. My thyroid
meds were discontinued with my doctor's knowledge as I
was getting too energetic and having trouble sleeping! That
from being a sleepaholic couch potato that was cold! :-) My
weight stayed steady until the last three weeks and it has now
started the downward move. My goal was health and just
believed the weight would come off when I found the right diet
and exercise routine that my life was comfortable with.
I've tried removing the
coconut oil but my energy drops and I don't feel as good. I'm
not on the site regularly any more - got too excited about all
the energy to do all the stuff I used to dream of! :-) I wish
you improved health and the weight loss that will no
doubt go with it!

For nursing mothers:
I have
personal experience with using Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) to
richen my milk supply :-) In fact, this is why I started
taking VCO in the first place. My baby was very low weight and
I just Knew that something wasn't right. Our ped was no help~
he said because she hadn't lost weight, she was fine. I
finally went to a naturopathic doctor, and explained my
situation (besides the baby gaining only a few ounces, I had
PPD). Since my baby was my 9th and I'd nursed the last 6... He
said that I probably didn't have enough good fats in my
system. That would account for my milk not being rich
enough/full of fat to help her grow, and it also probably had
a great deal to do with my hormones being out of whack and me
struggling with PPD. I started taking VCO when the baby was 5
months old. By the time she was 7 months old, she'd gained 3
whole pounds! My PPD had disappeared also :)
We went back for a weight check when the baby was 9 months
old, and she had gained another 2 pounds and was not only back
on the weight chart, but on the correct curve for her age,
etc. I had also noticed that she was developing new skills all
at once, that maybe she'd not been able to before. My ped was
so impressed he asked me what I'd done... I was a little
nervous about telling him, but truthfully, the only thing I'd
done differently was to take the VCO! So I told him and he
never rolled his eyes or treated me like I'd lost my mind ;-)
He even wrote it in her chart!
I can hardly wait to see what the effects of the VCO is on me
after the baby weans (she's 17 months old now~ and my other
kids weaned by themselves around 2 years). I could really
stand to lose a decent amount of weight... but in the
meantime, I'm happy with what it's done for my hormones and
for my baby's growth and development :-)

Thyroid Sufferers
I purchased a
jar of your coconut oil about a month ago. I purchased your
coconut oil because it is in a glass jar and because of the
pictures and information on your website. I have a low thyroid
and have been trying to find natural ways to speed things up.
I take 2 tablespoons everyday and have found my energy level
and weight loss to be its best in years. I am now able to
control my hypothyroidism without having to take prescription
drugs. This means a lot to me. The quality of your product is
the best. Thank you for such a wonderful product.

I have added about 3 tablespoons of
coconut oil to my diet a day on top of my normal amount of
calories. (I'm trying to get it up more.) I have a family
history of thyroid disorders. All of my living sisters and my
mother are currently being treated for hypothyroidism. I have
struggled all my life with trying to keep my weight down and
have to eat between 1200 and 1400 calories plus do regular
exercise in order to keep my weight stable. I decided to use
coconut oil after reading the work of Dr. Ray Peat and feeling
for years that my thyroid function has never been adequate. In
the past thyroid tests have shown me to be a tiny bit low, not
enough for treatment. My own experience so far has been very
good. I have not put on any new weight even though I am eating
easily 300 more calories a day. I have actually dropped a few
pounds recently since working on eating more coconut oil. I am
a celiac and the coconut oil has had very good effects on my
intestinal tract as well. I am the only one left in my
immediate family not on thyroid medication right now and the
only one not overweight. Something must be right about this. I
am 49 and seem to be healthy for my age. Tish

using your product for a couple of weeks now, and I feel so
much better! I even have my husband using your product and
wanting to know as much about it as possible. I have
Hypothyroidism and have been having the hardest time losing

am a walking testimonial to the benefits of a low carbohydrate/ high fat

oils and trans fat, and to limit soy, refined carbohydrates, quick-rise
breads, and whole grains that are not properly prepared by soaking first.
I
did this in stages but by far the most remarkable transformation
occurred when I started using coconut oil and simultaneously
eliminated skim milk and all soy products from my diet. And I lost weight!
